SELIGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — Two people have been found dead after a plane crash in a remote area of ​​northwestern Arizona, authorities said Tuesday.

Coconino County Sheriff’s officials said Williams/Grand Canyon substation deputies responded to a report of a missing plane north of Seligman.

Federal Aviation Administration officials said the plane disappeared from radar in a remote area of ​​Seligman, located between Kingman and Flagstaff.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter from Kingman assisted in the search, located the crash scene and confirmed that there were two fatalities.

The names, ages and hometowns of the victims are not immediately available.

Sheriff officials said National Transportation Safety Board investigators have been notified of the crash and will investigate the cause.
